Especially for [livejournal.com profile] owensheart!

I never watched "Buffy" or "Angel" but I keep buying their figures as they are so much fun! Here we have "Ice Cream Xander". He comes with an ice cream cone, a scoop, a plate of cheese - and a single heart! (which I already used in the Ed in lab scene)
I also got this Muppets popcorn stand. It may come in handy on a fair or maybe the Gotham circus (if we ever get a Jerome figure)

Right, you're a Buffy watcher! Do you mean, just the figure is creepy, or was also his character in the episode? Do you remember watching him in this costume? Giving out ice-cream?

He came to me like all my figures do - I was actually looking for the Lorne with stage pieces, when Xander came up. And then I couldn't NOT buy him. The seller was very generous, offering to take him out of his original box, which reduced the shipping from America from 30 USD to 12 USD. Quite a difference!

(And then I managed to break his right leg off at the hip. I tried to turn the joint but being a few years old it was too brittle and broke. I managed to glue in a stick though and he even still can turn the leg. Yay!)

I meant the figure looks creepy. I do remember the episode -- it's "Restless", the episode that's mostly people's dreams (season 4 finale). That was a weird episode, so I guess it was generally creepy, although I don't remember Xander specifically being creepy in it. But the ice cream man thing is from a dream. I don't remember the heart, but I assume it's a dream thing also.

Glad you were able to fix him!

He really doesn't look much like Xander, though! (He's the guy having his cheeks pinched in my icon.)

You so need to watch these shows; they inspired RTD in the creation of Torchwood and the reboot of Dr Who.

I watched the musical episode, so I know a bit of Xander. I was impressed with his singing. What he lacked in voice he certainly made up in enthusiasm! I liked that.

It's really funny how I know the show only through their figures - I have bought several Wesleys for customs and was VERY surprised when much later I saw a picture of what the guy really looks like, certainly not like a bookworm ;)

Then I bought some Willows, to make the Carole Barrowman figure. One of them came with a Tara. I also have bought the Angel and Spike in Hawaii shirts to put other heads onto them (which I know did not even happen in the same episode but someone made them a double pack), as well as "The Ring" Angel (in undershirt) and "Graduation Day" Angel (naked chest with bullet hole). So in a strange way I feel as if I know about the show even though I know nothing!

What's the story behind Xander being dressed that way? And why has he a heart?

Oh! I didn't know that! Guess he also got the killing spree from him - the Whedon style is quite legendary. I am really not much into any supernatural things though, so I wouldn't really enjoy that. I am more into serious "real" drama shows. Well, except "Gotham" ;)

Xander spends most of Season 4 stumbling from one dead-end job to another. In the dream-sequence episode Restless at the end of that season he wears this outfit - it symbolises his status. There are several scenes set in an ice-cream van, as he tries to find his way out of the dream/nightmare. The heart is part of that, but he is also the "heart" of the group. The cheese is also an important element in that episode. In a way.

If you like Torchwood and DW you'd like Buffy. Yes, there are supernatural elements, but it's all and always about the people, with some of the best writing for TV ever.

Wesley goes through massive development as a character from his first appearance as somewhat inept and socially uncomfortable to a badass but deeply tragic figure. Alexis Denisov is a very fine actor.

I believe that you must be equipped for making your own film now. Yes!

It is, isn't it? Those Muppet figures have the best accessories and backgrounds!

I would love to buy this kitchen but it is very expensive: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/muppet/images/f/f5/Palisadesgallery-kitchen.png/revision/latest?cb=20160208000518

There is also a lab: http://www.toymania.com/columns/spotlight/images/muppetlabstitle.jpg

And backstage: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060505005561/muppet/images/e/e1/Backstage.jpg

I never even watched the Muppets!

I didn't even know they made Muppets figures. Beaker was always my favourite:

He comes with an ice cream cone, a scoop, a plate of crackers - and a single heart!
That's a bit weird set of items - "find one item that doesn't match the others" ;)

Apparently the crackers are actually cheese - I just corrected it.

I was quite puzzled at first about the red thing until I recognized the shape!

If you read the other comments (of those who watched it) they explain a bit further but still not exactly what the heart was doing there. Seems like some sort of a weird dream.

I was a huge Buffy fan but don't recognize why the heart is there. Creepy!

But yes, you should watch the series. NOT the movie!
