In the past few days Vic Mignogna tweeted two things that both reminded me of John Barrowman. I can't help it, I feel as if they are doing this just for me ;)

First they had fun with a shark:

 photo shark 600 x 600.jpg

And just today a live action "Futurama" fanfilm came out. You can watch it here if you like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-1RMKdWz8M

If you just want to see Vic's part, he comes at minute 15:55 and I love it. Hilarious. Beware of joysticks and pixelation ;)

I may soon need to do a masterlist for all the comparison pictures. In the meantime, follow the tag.

This is mainly for [personal profile] x_erikah_x and for everyone else who would be interested in seeing Vic Mignogna in many different roles, some bits and pieces he played in movies, but especially all kind of funny video clips he posted himself. Some real gems in there! I won't embedd the videos, as the post would take too long to load. Just click on whichever link you like! I'm putting the time running at the end, most are only a couple of minutes.

I'll add more to the list when I find more so keep checking back!

The first two are hilarious. Watch them, and then tell me - how long did it take for you to notice what's up? Seriously! Vic's apology for not being able to come to Metrocon:

2006 Part 1: Metrocon apology 1 1:34

2007 Part 2 (one year later): Metrocon apology 2 2:26

Are you a fan of Lord of the Rings? Then you have to watch this clip. It's called "Todd of the Rings" and is a parody, but still so well done and faithful to the original. Vic is Frodo, and if you thought he only can play Shatner playing Kirk, then you are wrong. I love how different he is in this, so small and cute. I've also seen behind-the-scenes - the campfire scene was done entirely on green screen. Amazing. The scenes in the Hobbit village were done on original location in New Zealand! This was part of a contest with Todd, where each of them would do dedication videos about the other. Highly recommended!

2012: Todd of the Rings 23:54

I searched and found some other movie clips. This one is called "Holly's Story" and about a teenager who gets pregnant and then gets an abortion, but has trouble to deal with it afterwards. Here's the clip where she is telling her parents - Vic is the Dad, and again I am marvelling how "real" he is with his emotions. I am serious, this guy needs some roles in some real movies or series!

2004: Clip from "Holly's Story" - talk with parents 4:52

2004 Clip 2 from "Holly's Story" - In the clinic 11:06

The whole movie can be watched here, it's in English but with Dutch subtitles. Vic's scenes start at 00:30 (scene in the kitchen), 10:10 (scene from clip 1 above), 15:50 (scene from clip 2 above) and 30:05 (Holly comes home late in the evening and gets a dressing down from her parents). That's it.

2004: Holly's Story - whole movie 53:54

He was also in a 20 minutes short movie which I haven't been able to find in full yet. If you know anything about how or where to get this, please let me know! It's called "Singularity" and is about a guy inventing a computer intelligence. Vic is a nerd, right with glasses and everything, and again so different. Watch the trailer and then tell me you don't want to see the whole thing!

2012: Trailer Singularity 0:55

While we are on the topic of short movies, there will be another one which is still in development - or as a series even. It's called "R.U.R. Genesis" and has aside of Vic some other familiar faces - Chase Masterson and Kipley Brown for example. Director is James Kerwin who also directed two "Star Trek Continues" episodes. I love how they all know each other and work on each other projects! I'm not quite clear what it is exactly about, but the trailer is very atmospheric. Watch it if you want to see Vic as a bad buy (weapon's dealer or something?) - speaking French!!! He appears around 1:59 if you cannot wait.

2013: Trailer R.U.R. Genesis 6:56

There are two more projects in the pipeline which are supposed to come out this year according to IMDB - yay! I'm always happy to see him and not only hear his voice over an animation!

One is called "Broken Spirits" - here's the official description: "Four young people are pulled into an alternate dimension through a portal in a sweat lodge. On the other side four murderous spirits of centuries-old gold hunters await to steal the young peoples' bodies and return to the living world."

No trailer yet, but there is a nice video with interviews where the actors talk about their biggest fears and what truly scares them and it is nice to see them so open about it:

2011: Behind the scenes Episode 1: Fears 4:59

Not sure about the other one, if it is a TV movie or a series even, I thought I read somewhere something about the British TV? It's an independent production though. On FB they call it "Sci-fi thriller". No plot description yet but lots of names attached. Check them out at IMDB. The name is "Humber City: The Rising Tide". No trailer yet, just several videos with the different actor's talking about their roles. Here's the one with Vic:

Humber City: The Cast Speak... #9 - Vic Mignogna 1:37

I'm following all those productions on Facebook to keep up with any news. Seeing for how long they are in development already, such things take time apparently!

Any Firefly fans among us? He was also in a Firefly fanfilm. Vic appears at 8:40.

2014: Firefly Fanfilm: The Verse 14:40

Finally, here's how it all started - Vic as a child, having sewn his own Star Trek uniforms on his mother's sewing machine, and having built his own props, and then shooting small Star Trek videos with friends. It's called "Vic's Vintage Voyages". I don't know which one is the one he showed us on Fedcon and pointed out how he was doing up his zipper in one scene LOL

Vics Vintage Voyages 1 0:42

Vics Vintage Voyages 2 0:59

Vics Vintage Voyages 3 2:40

Vics Vintage Voyages 4 3:16

Vics Vintage Voyages 5 3:04

And if Vic didn't have enough talents already with producing, directing, writing, editing, sound designing, composing and playing the piano, he also played soccer in college. Here he is with Brit, who apparently is a world class goal keeper, and Vic is shooting. You can see him and his muscly legs in short pants and Italian soccer shirt. I love how he is always excited when he scores. Really cute ;)

2009: Soccer showdown 2009 2:46

2009: Soccer showdown II 9:01

The rematch six years later:

2014: Soccer Showdown 2014 5:34

While we're in the sports section - here he is singing the "Star spangled banner" at Houston Dynamo vs. Colorado Rapids on May 10, 2008

2008: Vic singing the Star spangled banner

And if you want to see Vic as he is, pure, without any acting, watch the "Lindbeck & Lee" episodes. Absolutely hilarious. He plays with action figures, he spontanously sings, he's doing all kind of funny stuff and looking so cute and like a little boy there it's hard to believe that he is over 50. I also more than once thought "this could have been John Barrowman as well". Apparently I do have a type ;)

My favorites are:

2015: Episode 3: The Love list 15:27

2015: The Easy Bake Oven episode part 1 12:50

2015: The Easy Bake Oven episode part 2 10:48

And just for convenience the rest of the links:

2015: Episode 2: Love, Tea and Tears (The ending is so cute!) 10:06

2015: Episode 5: The Smashround Interview (very funny!) 6:56

2015: Episode 6: The big interview (serious for a change) 20:01

2015: Promo: Vic gets lucky 0:12

And now a few I've posted before but it's worth having in here as well: Vic singing a love duet with Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor from Smallville). Vic is Diana Ross. 'nough said:

2014: Vic and Michael sing Endless Love 4:59

Vic and Todd Haberkorn having a swimming race like their characters in the animé series "Free". Whom of them will win? Is that a serious question? I never had any doubt!

2016: Swimming Race 3:02

And a look into the past - if he only had known back then what he would achieve one day!

1986: College Trek - Vic is Kirk (what else?) 0:27

You didn't think I was finished, did you? Not by a long shot. Pic number 3 - I had left after the first two (threatening: "I'll be back!" to which he laughed), and went back to the end of line (which sadly was not very long). Now it was another two solo pictures and then my friend and I had planned some special double pictures, and we did not want to hold up the line so we waited for the end.

I chose this one to let it be signed as it's quite lovely.

So I've promised [livejournal.com profile] alumfelga I'd do a picspam with this guy's sometimes really weird but still very interesting and different (never saw anything like that before) shirts. Turns out, I have to admit defeat ;) After googling, I will have to do five posts. They will be called "Black" (he seems to like that color), "Psychodelic" (I don't even know exactly what that word means but it is exactly what comes to mind), "Dapper" (yes, he can dress up if he likes to) and "Cosplay". Wait till you see him as Wolverine ;) And if you are very nice, there may be even a "No shirt" part LOL

Let's start today with the pants, which are equally unique and fascinating. Have fun! [livejournal.com profile] x_erikah_x

Another one for the "I'm famous" tag :)

A 30 minutes long video of Fedcon, showing lots of fans in costume as well as the stars on stage, and a really lovely and long interview with Vic Mignogna. But the most important bit - at 16:00 you'll see one of my action figure pictures. I had put some of my Star Trek Comics into the art gallery. I feel very honored!

Another one of my favorite comparison posts ;) The first video I have posted before, the second I just found right now. And I am having the greatest fun. Again I am amazed that I most definitely seem to have a type ;)

Guys singing love duets, without any care. And not just singing, but really giving into it. There is even a kiss at the end in both - one at the mouth, the other one at the cheek. And it does not matter one bit that only one of those four is openly gay.

1. John Barrowman and Stephen Amell - Music of the night from Phantom of the opera:

Fun pic with Vic part 2!

Before the con, I looked through the internet, trying to find any "different" pictures, to see whether he was a good sport. We are quite spoiled through John Barrowman, one may not expect that with everyone. I mostly only could find hugs Vic gives fans at the convention floor, hardly a posed photosession pic.

But I was determined to ask anyway. He giggled about our suggestions, but willingly did everything we asked.

This is my new trademark pose now with guys that have a biceps to show off! See for comparison me checking John Barrowman's a year ago: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/137444.html

Okay, let's begin with the real fun, and the reason why I bought my Fedcon ticket. Seriously. Now that we have Karl Urban and William Shatner out of the way ;)

When I came with 100 Euro to the desk to buy pictures, the lady said "But it's not William Shatner's turn yet" LOL

This is the first of many I did with Vic. Before it got snapped, I said to him "I want to give you a hug because I know the past months have not been good for you" (look up "lawsuit against fanfilm" if you want to know why - I'd hate that one person who is not playing by the rules could end things for all the others as well, and it must be a heavy burden to not know what happens next) and he hugged me back and quietly said "Thank you." The photographer patiently waited until we were done, the line was not very long.

I won't be back to work until next week and only then can scan my photo sessions. So have some Vic pictures I took instead. It's not really a picspam, only four pics. He is as hard to photograph as John Barrowman, never standing still.

Vic was my original reason for going to this convention (William Shatner and Karl Urban got added later) and he was the highlight of the weekend for me. He told us he had been quite afraid that nobody would be interested in him (there was a huge line-up of famous Star Trek actors from all series, including George Takei and Walter Koenig). I read yesterday that in America at animé conventions people have to wait three hours for his autograph and he is considered as big as William Shatner there. But of course not here in Germany.

We had a lot of time to talk to him at the autograph table, and he willingly did all my crazy photo ideas. He knows and loves John, and even wrote so on my picture. I did not get an answer to my question whether his phone number was in his address book for a possible Star Trek Continues guest spot. But he took out his phone to show us a picture of himself with John, and while we were at it, I also asked to see the famous bruise he had gotten while doing a stunt for "Lolani". He said it looks like Texas, and that nobody ever sees it so we were really lucky ;)

But my highlight was the piano song he played just for me, while looking into my eyes. I'll never forget that. More on that when I can show the video.

I also managed to give him an album with my action figure pictures and he really liked it. He even took a picture of me with it. He said "You're my kind of girl" after I also showed him the Captain Kirk with ripped shirt and the 3D chess I had customized, and he said that he had done an animated video with animé figures. Guess that's my next goal then ;)

He even took a picture of me with the album as a memory, he says he always does that. He also asked me to sign it but I already had ;)

Not sure if anyone would be interested in hearing more about the panels. It was just nice seeing his enthusiasm for Star Trek Continues and how he made his dream come true. He showed us some clips of him doing the first movies at just 11 years old, he had learnt how to use the sewing machine from his mom to make uniforms and Tribbles, hundred of them. He even was tearing up a little bit once.

He even told us a secret about the new set for episode 7 but I will honor him and not repeat it. He said he was editing the episode on his laptop on the way over the ocean and we should please not break into his hotel room LOL He is just so excited and it must be hard keeping secrets. He also introduced and then watched episode 6 with us, and when he was going back on stage again I could see him wipe his eyes. It was a quite emotional episode.

Those that gave money already got a link to watch it, the rest has to wait till May 28th when it's the official premiere.

So, I am still on cloud nine. Please don't get me down!

Three more pics )

Look at that tight shirt and those pants. This is what he looked like in the photosession. You could feel every muscle when putting your arms around him ;)

[livejournal.com profile] x_erikah_x I'll tag you in all my Vic posts so you won't miss them okay? Sorry, totally forgot to give him your greetings, even though there would have been plenty of time :( I only realized too late and he had to leave early so I did not get another chance. Next time!

Look what I bought! I've told you about Star Trek Continues before and how wonderfully they continue the original series with Kirk and Spock and how much like the original episodes it all looks - music, camera, lights, costumes, actors. I've also told you about the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign they have at the moment.

But for a long time I couldn't decide which of the goodies to get to support this wonderful series. There are t-shirts, autographs, scripts, episodes for download. There are also more expensive options like meals or chats with the actors, or even a walk-on role or a set visit.

But yesterday something got added that I couldn't resist: A pillow made from the sickbay cloth. This cloth does not exist anymore, Vic had let it woven especially for the series. And one of those 20 pillows is now mine!

There is a special story behind this. When [livejournal.com profile] x_erikah_x recommended it to me, the first episode I watched was number 4, "The White Iris". It starts with a sickbay scene and I remember the moment I realized that the beds had the exact right bedcover. That was way before I actually got to see the re-built bridge or anything. It blew me away and raised my expectations to much higher levels. I had actually come in being willing to overlook small details, but for a fan-series this is produced quite professionally - but everyone works for free, the collected money all goes into the production.

I'm also thinking about getting one of those coins Vic Mignogna designed for each episode. They were given to cast and crew as a thank you and seem to be very popular, the first set sold out very quickly.

I'd love to wear their t-shirt for my picture with Vic at Fedcon in May but sadly they will be only sent in August.

So, even if you looked at the Indiegogo page before, make sure to check back regularly as they keep adding new things. We finally made it over the 100,000 dollars mark but are still far away from the goal. If anyone deserves it, they are. I am usually very reluctant parting with my money, but I'll happily give if it means I'll get more episodes (you can watch them for free though, funding is not required for that. Just follow the link I posted above)

Even my action figures want to help with collecting money
