This is the living room. Can't you see the two of them sitting there, reading the paper, or experimenting? Sitting by the fireplace, while outside it's stormy and rainy? (it seems it was always stormy and rainy in the books)

Everything is so...ornate? Is that the word I want? And cluttered. I would not want to have to clean that place. Also, the wallpaper is ugly, but not nearly as hideous as the one in the show. I would make a crap Victorian, apparently. :)

It is indeed a bit full, and now you got me wondering how they do the cleaning. Certainly not during the day. In the evenings? Once a year when closed down?

They don't have servants, and Mrs. Hudson is 'not their housekeeper, but their landlady', so they must hire someone in to do it occasionally. Wonder what made Victorians so enamored of crap everywhere? I would not have survived back then, I'm sure.

Ah, you were talking about Sherlock and John! I was talking about the museum staff ;) Yeah, Mrs. Hudson certainly isn't doing it. She's afraid of all the stuff Sherlock puts into the fridge ;) Maybe Molly? She seems the type.

They do it once a year with our Opera house. Closing it for a week and doing profound cleanings. Getting the chandelier down and everything.

Oh, the poor museum staff. It must be part of their job description, so they know what they are letting themselves in for. I know people who love to clean, I am not one of them. I've offered to let some of them come and clean for me, but so far I've had no takers.
