Today I have a double feature for all the "Sherlock" fans! First, have you seen that google maps now has added inside pictures to North Gower Street? You can view Sherlock's flat in 360° and also walk into the kitchen. Here's the link:

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/N+Gower+St,+Kings+Cross,+London+NW1+2NN/@51.5262565,-0.1368584,3a,47.9y,296.13h,58.19t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suhT4RVHIknAAAAQvxSEq1g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x48761b26385ff313:0xea9dd0c978cb6767!8m2!3d51.5275523!4d-0.1380127!6m1!1e1

A while ago I also saw the inside of the TARDIS when you click at the one at Earl's Court.

Secondly, in last week's "Sherlock" episode "The lying Detective" an eagle eyed fan found a postcard from "Torchwood" on the mantelpiece. Here you can see a screenshot: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-01-14/did-you-spot-the-torchwood-easter-egg-in-sherlock

So of course I had to react to that! So I created this:

Just putting this link here so I have it handy in case I need it. This woman is doing travel cases for dolls. Most awesome thing! I still won't travel with my figures to the UK though.

It must be cold in space... When I saw Todd Haberkorn in his blanket, I couldn't resist ;)

Previous comparisons can be found here: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/tag/comparisons
I wonder if I should change the name of the tag? Matching pics or something? It is not really my intention to compare them, I just love seeing similarities.

For all my Sherlock friends - I am sorting through pictures and realized I never posted about the Sherlock Holmes museum in Baker Street. See, there is a little story. I grew up in Eastern Germany, and Sherlock Holmes (the original books) was my first fandom. One day I used all my school English (which wasn't much at the time) and wrote a letter. I had read somewhere that someone still answers them in the name of Sherlock Holmes. All I wanted was a real letter from the UK with a real British stamp.

I never got it. I wonder if my letter ever even left the country or was held back by the STASI for whatever reason. I recently read that a lot of requests for autographs from singers or footballers to Western Germany never arrived either and were found in the archives.

Anyway, fast forward to 2011 and here I am, visiting London and the Sherlock Holmes museum! Something I'd never have thought possible back then. I'm doing this picspam for those of you who also probably never will be able to see it with their own eyes - money can be as much a restriction as borders. Enjoy!

I'll do several parts as it would become too much otherwise. I'll sort them by room. Click the cut - you know the thrill.

For all the Sherlock fans at my friends list! Please click this link to a wonderful entry who has collected some awesome miniature work in the Sherlock world. Re-creating the famous living room, and someone even made figures of Sherlock and John.

And then there is also a tutorial about how to do Baker Street 221b in a matchbox. Simply awesome.

For [personal profile] excentric397 so she can have a proper look.

I never showed detailed pictures of all the wonderful accessories that come with the Sherlock and John figures. If you like, I could also show the violin, skull, cane (which can be adjusted in length), phones, notebook, magnifier, weapon, coffee cup... Lots of great stuff. But the best is the laptop. See pictures of all its glory behind the cut:

Surely you all have seen the little Sherlock Mini episode that aired before the third season came to the TV? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwntNANJCOE

And with that little movie and subsequent episodes, Anderson suddenly became the darling of the fandom. He said at the convention that he yet has get used to this, as before everyone hated him.

Here is my picture with him. After the first one was taken I noticed that I had blinked and asked the photographer and he checked and said: "You did indeed" and took another one. And Jonathan added: "Good for you!", meaning that I could stand there longer with him ;)

I also asked him at the autograph session whether he minded my hug, as pretty much everyone else just stood there with their hands at their sides. Guess I am too much used to pictures with John Barrowman... but Jon said it was fine.
