I'm famous *thud*

Since president Obama visited my homecity Dresden yesterday several pictures of me can be found in the web. Apparently people really liked my little Obama figure! I also got interviewed and appeared on some German TV-channels: ZDF, N-TV, RTL, Dresden-TV (and I have it all on tape!); plus my picture is in some newspapers as well: Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten, Morgenpost, Freie Presse and a quote without picture in the Sächsische Zeitung.

First, here are the pictures I took that day:

batch 1 (Thursday): http://dieastra.livejournal.com/5585.html

batch 2 (Friday): http://dieastra.livejournal.com/6545.html

And don't forget to look at my story how General O'Neill explained the Stargate programme to the new President: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/3687.html

Picture from Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten:

And at a stand of the Sächsische Zeitung you could get this picture:

It was here when RTL asked me what I was doing at the moment. Well, what does it look like? LOL I need to digitalize the video. It was in their main evening news, and afterwards my mother called: "I've seen you in TV!"

Dresdner Morgenpost:

Video in ZDF heute:

Here's a link to the video, it jumps right to my moment: https://youtu.be/Y4M7DPXGq3c#t=1m22s

The following was the pic my American friend found in the Democracy forum:

It also was displayed in Zeitong from Fulda:

There were also picture contests. Here are two entries that show me:

Illya!

Wow Loth sure is fanning over DM these days!

Ah, I was 9, and my friend and I used to play UNCLE - she sent off for UNCLE ID cards, and we had the luger-type toy guns, and we'd dress in black pants and turtlenecks and run around the neighborhood. Only problem was, I had to be Napolean and she got to be Illya, since she was blonde and I wasn't. LOL

That sounds like fun! And it proves you were a fan years before SG came along. I love it when kids take things so seriously.

Next Gatecon you'll have to bring your Illya figure, I will bring mine, we can make some pictures ;)

I never watched the show and have no clue at all what you and Loth are talking about, because where I lived in Eastern Germany we were not able to get TV from Western Germany (the rest of the republic did get it, and watched all the cool stuff). So I often feel left out when there is talking about such things, but if I ever happen to catch it on TV I'll check it out, I promise!

Well, since it was s spy show, and even though Illya was Russian, I'm not surprised it didn't get to you.

My friend moved away at the end of the first season, so I never played like that again. :(

There are episodes on Youtube

This is a highlight clip from "The Thor Affair"

(all the eps titles end in 'Affair', and each act is titled LOL)

You'll like Illya - dry humor and very smart - actually a bit like Mac ;)

And lots of gadgets LOL

BTW, Napoleon was played by Robert Vaughn, who was RDA's father on Emerald Point LOLOL
