Picspam: book signs

There is a picture making the rounds on FB about people who use book signs and monsters - monsters are those that fold the corner of a page. I am more like putting the book upside down ;)
Even though I have so many nice book signs. No idea why I never use them. So here is my collection of book signs:

Love the pink and black one! :D

It's lovely! It was a gift from my grandmother. You can see I never used it, it is still on its original card LOL

I realized I forgot this cutie:

I really like the third and last ones, though you have some other good ones in there as well. I only have two or three bookmarks, I keep losing them! Though now that I am getting a lot of books from the library, I try to keep track of them a bit more. I am the type of person who will grab an envelope or receipt or other scrap piece of paper and use that. The reservation slips from the library often serve the purpose!

Yes, the library thing is also often used here! It's so easy. I am too lazy to get up from my sofa to go to the other room to get a book sign LOL

Sometimes I also try the "remember the page number" tactic but if you read three books at once it gets complicated. If a big book stays open by itself when laid on the table, then I may do that.

Many of these were gifts. I only bought the first one myself, as I love moose. I bought the little book to be used for my figures, I cut off the long line. And the last one I found in a shop in the Netherlands, I gave it to my father for Christmas. I love funny things that sever a purpose! Life is too boring otherwise.

I just realized I forgot this cutie:

Oh, and if you are interested to see my books - there once was a meme about that too ;)

The last one! What a brilliant idea :) I also like the one woth books and the pink one, with "love".

My bookmarks are never at hand when I need them so I rarely use them. Any piece of paper will do :)

I love it too! I love things that are funny and unique but actually useful. I found it in a shop in the Netherlands and gave it to my father for Christmas. I am happy to see that he actually uses it!

The pink one was a gift by my grandmother (many of these were). You can see it was never used, it is still on its original cardboard.

Yeah, I am simply too lazy to get up to go to the other room to get a sign, so whatever is nearby will get used. Or I try to remember the page number.

We also once had a meme about bookshelves if you like ;)

Or I try to remember the page number.
Never works for me ;)

Er, is the first like supposed to be a link to the post about books?

Oh, what a great idea for a meme! Books!

Arrrgh! Of course this picture was meant: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q227/DieAstra/Art/DSC00423%20600%20x%20400.jpg

No problem!

Nice moose! Looks very soft :)

You have Shaun the Sheep!!!!!

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2016-07-21 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
A gift from my brother ;) I love such things.

This is a nice collection!

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2016-07-21 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it really is! Oddly, I never use any of them.
The one with the zip I gave to my father for Christmas.

Wow, I have never seen book 'signs' like some of those. The pink and silver angel one is very pretty. And of course, I love the Torchwood ones. But I've never seen anything like that moose or cow, lol!

Cheers!

Sorry, of course bookmark is the correct English term. I mixed it up with the German one, which is Lesezeichen, which can be translated to reading sign (like Verkehrszeichen - traffic sign). Hope I didn't confuse anybody ;)

Only problem with the moose or cow ones is, I never use them! In the end, I use any paper that is lying around at the time. But they are cute!

These are lovely.

Thank you!

I have a couple--somewhere! I call them bookmarks.

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2016-07-03 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
Right, bookmarks is the official English term. I am always mixing it up with the German term. It's called "Lesezeichen" over here, which translates to reading sign maybe? Like "Verkehrszeichen" which is traffic sign. That's how I came up with book sign ;)

Some great bookmarks there!! I really like the one with Shaun the Sheep and pals in the shower, as well as the one with all the books and the little kid reaching for one, and that last one is hilariously wonderful too!! :D

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2016-04-03 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
Some great ones indeed but as you can see, many are still mint on package and never used ;) Many were gifts also. In the end, I often take just any slip of paper I have handy. The Shaun the sheep one was a gift from my brother. I adore Shaun and have also done a Doctor Who / Shaun crossover action figure comic once ;)

The last one with the zip is something I adore: Unique and different and funny, but yet having a purpose. My father actually uses it and I crack up every time I see his book with a zip ;)
