Contest Winning!
With all the new stuff coming in, I haven't told you yet about winning the competition in our Sixth Scale Universe Facebook group two times in a row! Each month we get a certain theme and then do pictures for it, and then we vote which is the best. The winner gets to be the header of the group for the next month.
In May 2016 I won the competition for the word "Futuristic". Click here to see my post with details about how I did this picture with ordinary household things.

I also won in April with the word "Homage" but I will make an extra post with those pictures yet.
I won two times before. December 2014 - "Winter Holidays". The whole picture can be seen here

And January 2016 - "Magazine Cover or Movie Poster". The whole picture can be seen here

I feel that when you do the same thing, you can understand much better how much work is going into it.
Once I started to write fanfic myself, I realized how much I loved feedback, and from then on I made sure to always let a writer know how much I enjoyed their story and giving examples of why. I often got replies back saying that this was the best feedback they ever got. Often people only write something like "Liked it, write more". That's not enough, I feel.
Same for when I started to do music videos myself. Suddenly I realized how difficult it is to cut them exactly to the second, and could much better relate to other great pieces by my friends and sometimes ask myself how they did that.
And in the miniature world it is the same I guess. You have to have a certain eye for small details. I recently joined a Facebook group which is perfect for me - people building dollhouse items out of everyday things. I felt right at home ;)
Did you ever win anything in the contests you entered?
