Aw man... apparently I made this post long ago when I found the picture, it was a scheduled post! I had totally forgotten about it.
I wonder if Photobucket even knows (or cares) how disruptive they have been with that decision. I mean, whichever forum you look at - so much knowledge lost from the past 10 years! So many blogs without pictures.
Anyway, interestingly enough when I clicked on it and downloaded it, even though I only saw the grey on screen, I was able to download the original! Fixed the post, please have another look! Oh and - поздравляю с Днем рождения!
I wonder if it only works with your own pictures. Have you tried with mine? Still plenty in this journal that I did not fix yet.
I read that someone said they don't have access to family pictures as the owner of the photobucket has died.
Of course, one should have their own photos saved somewhere else anyway. Apparently a lot of users were really taken by surprise, and are not able to download as the site is slow, and don't have them anywhere else, as they used it as a photo storage site and deleted it. You never can be sure if they will be in the cloud forever.
If you really need to go the download route, I hear you don't need to do it for each one individually, it is possible to download whole folders as zip. Don't know how though.

(The picture unfortunately got eaten by Photobucket, which won't even let me click through to it :(

The picture is so cute! :D
And good to know that the real image can be downloaded even when it doesn't show up -- that's what I'm getting with my photobucket also...
