Flailing

It's 2 AM but I am still here, flailing about so many things at once, I don't even know where to start!

- the Public Choice Award and the Golden Globe for Matt Bomer

- that his Monty Clift movie will be made by HBO. I'll only have to wait like 2 years to be able to see it? So expect lots more flailing

- the announcement of the Torchwood radio plays

- the new weekly John Barrowman radioshow on Sundays. First one two days ago and I loved it!

- actually still not finished writing (and flailing) about the John Barrowman pantomime in Glasgow and the pictures we took, so expect more from that as well

- upcoming events this year: Torchwood Convention, John Barrowman concert tour and Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet on stage

- in May I will be able to purchase new Arrow action figures

- Today also Big Chief announced the headsculpt for their other Tenth Doctor 1:6 figure - in blue suit this time and with spiky hair. I am so getting that!

So, yeah. I guess you understand why I can't sleep?

Edit: I just realized I forgot one important thing to flail about! Every month we have a contest in our action figure group on Facebook and my entry for December won and is now for a month the header of the group! Isn't that awesome?

Please can you tell me when the Torchwood radio shows will be on and on which station?

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2015-01-14 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
We don’t know yet. It was just revealed yesterday that there will be new radio plays. Check out my other post I did, it has a link explaining more. That’s all we know for now. They haven’t been written yet, and they need to record them yet. I am sure when the time comes we will spread the info about the dates everywhere! Might take a while yet though. Still I am very excited!

Thank you!
Did you see my other post about the Torchwood convention in London? Wanna come?

[identity profile] owensheart.livejournal.com 2015-01-21 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
How much are the tickets and where do I get one?

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2015-01-21 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
There are gold tickets for 160 GBP and regular tickets for 95 GBP. The only difference for gold is that you sit in the first few rows (but they do have a video screen for those further from the stage), and that you can go to a meet and greet with the stars (without JB though) on Friday evening. Everything else is the same. You get free autographs for each one but have to buy pictures with them extra.

Here is the link, it should explain everyting, if not, just ask me: http://seanharry.com/events/torchwood/

Thanks for the link, I have looked thorough it and I just dont think I have the finances for it at the moment, what with my husband being put on full disability and me not being able to go to work because I care for him full time.

thanks for asking tho I would love to but maybe another time *hugs*

[identity profile] colej55.livejournal.com 2015-01-14 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL I'd be flailing, too, if I were you! All good things to look forward to.

Congrats on the win for your "action figure group on Facebook"!

A friend asked me a while ago who I would cast as Montgomery Clift in a bio pic and it took me exactly half a second to say Matt Bomer. I haven't heard anything more after that so looking forward to it if and when it comes to light.

What weekly JB radio show?!?!? Is there an internet link? Is it only broadcast in Germany? What's the show about?

Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet on stage: Oh I hope that becomes a "Live Nation" simulcast because then we can see it here in Canada. I saw his play (via LN) for Frankenstein (with Johnny Lee Miller where they switched roles)and he was really good in it.

Hiya! Nice of you to catch up with all my stuff!

Aparently the Monty Clift movie is in the works for a while now, it started as an independent movie, but Matt always said he'd either do it properly and with the right people or not at all. Ever since "The Normal Heart" (have you seen this? Absolutely awesome!) he says that he wants to do movies which mean something to him. Now that they have teamed up with HBO we think it might become something really good indeed, as they have the good writers and everything. But might take a while yet until we get to see it. Somehow I am glad that I only became a fan when TNH already was available and didn't have to do the long wait for that LOL

As you might see from this reaction, Matt has kinda sneaked up on me recently! I watched White Collar for years, and always loved it and also him, but only recently I became a serious fan and started all the older stuff he has done, even the chain massacre movie and the soap. If you don't know it yet, go to youtube and search for the eight episodes of "Traveler", that was his first leading role and it is really good!

I am looking also forward to "The nice guys" which seems to be a bigger role, I am sure we will see lots of great stuff from him yet. Did you also see his guest starring in "The American Horror Story"?

You can listen to the weekly JB radio show from everywhere! It is on 6 PM UK time on Sundays, do the math which time that is for you. I listen via this website - uh, sorry, I HAD a link but it does not seem to work anymore. I'll let you know if I find another one! Apparently, if you have a mobile phone, you can also download an app for international radio, have a look!

It's a really nice show, lots of feel good music from the Eighties (also lots of songs John has covered, but in their original version) and in between he tells funny stories and last weekend even his parents took part with a movie review. There is also an artist of the week and you can write to him about a song that is something special to you and then they might call you and you talk with him. This is all preproduced, not live. We recently got a picture from the recording studio in California.

The two hours always go by like nothing. And he has started to live tweet now during it and hang around with the listeners.

I also saw both Frankenstein versions only in the cinema. We will be a group of 6 friends going to the theatre, it's the same venue like last year with David Tennant and Richard II. Currently trying to find accommodation, that's why I am still awake ;) And tomorrow we will go to see "The imitation game" in English. Thankfully more cinemas show movies in their originally language now over here.

I don't think I've heard of the Traveler. It may not have been shown in Canada....a lot of US shows don't get picked up here. I'll try to check it out on YouTube.

Not surprised that JB has 80s music on his show...it's so him! No worries about a link as I'm not sure I'll get to listen to JBs shows on Sundays as the time it would air here is in direct conflict with my crystal healing workshops. The show does sound really cool though. I bet someone puts it up on YouTube at some point and I can catch up or I'll get the summary from your blog LOL

I too love going to the theatre & the cinema with friends. We just went to see Treasure Island with Arthur Darvill this past Saturday (National Theatre Live encore presentation)...I am still writing the review and will back post it shortly. If you haven't seen it and can please so as it's amazing....

[identity profile] dieastra.livejournal.com 2015-03-08 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you find Traveler on youtube? This is the first part, the others are linked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkiYFxJEiJw
It's really good.

Aw too bad you would miss the JB radio show, but just in case, here is the right link: http://magic1054.radio.net/

It's on right now.

I'm so glad about all the National Theatre stuff! Beats flying to London all the time LOL

Oh in case you don't know it yet, the Cumberbatch Hamlet will be in cinemas on October 15th! Which is one day after my birthday and roughly one week after we saw it live. We want to go to the cinema anyway, as there you can have close-ups and surely a very different experience. Hopefully subtitles as well, although since I saw it with David Tennant (on DVD) I know the text pretty well.
