Comparison: MacGyver eating ice cream

When my friend and I were in Vancouver (to meet Richard Dean Anderson) we recreated the scene from the "MacGyver" opening credits where he eats ice cream in front of the steam clock in gastown. As there is no MacGyver figure we used Jack from "Stargate SG-1" who is also played by RDA.

Great idea! And of course Jack has three scoops, not just one!! :D :D

Haha, yes of course!
It was funny how this happened. My friend had the idea - luckily when we were still at home. She asked "You don't have any ice cream cone by any chance, do you?" And I said "As a matter of fact, I do!" (seriously, you can ask me about anything and I usually have it in miniature).

So I brought it specifically for this occasion. Would have been sad if we only had the idea there and I left it at home!

Hehe, thank you! Yes, it was a great series. I should do a re-watch. It was really great visiting all those places in Vancouver.

That's brilliant! Do you watch the new MacGyver? I really like it. I haven't seen very much of the old ones although my sister used to watch it religiously!

Thank you!
No, I have no intention to watch the new one. I have heard many bad things about it.

If you like this, then I am sure you would like the original even more.

It must be re-run sometimes? We get it at least once a year! Yes, it's dated with all this Eighties stuff like huge cell phones (or the computers LOL) but I find it still charming. Richard Dean Anderson brought a lot of himself to the role and I cannot replace him in my mind. I loved that he always shook out his hand after hitting someone, showing that it hurt. Which other hero would do that?

Strangely they do not run old MacGyver episodes here in Canada...no idea why. So for now I have the new one instead and it's fun, crazy and sometimes silly but with all the heavy drama on TV now I don't mind a show like that and it's a nice break to watch something light.
