When my friend and I were in Vancouver (to meet Richard Dean Anderson) we recreated the scene from the "MacGyver" opening credits where he eats ice cream in front of the steam clock in gastown. As there is no MacGyver figure we used Jack from "Stargate SG-1" who is also played by RDA.

Date: 2017-12-16 09:18 am (UTC)It was funny how this happened. My friend had the idea - luckily when we were still at home. She asked "You don't have any ice cream cone by any chance, do you?" And I said "As a matter of fact, I do!" (seriously, you can ask me about anything and I usually have it in miniature).
So I brought it specifically for this occasion. Would have been sad if we only had the idea there and I left it at home!

If you like this, then I am sure you would like the original even more.
It must be re-run sometimes? We get it at least once a year! Yes, it's dated with all this Eighties stuff like huge cell phones (or the computers LOL) but I find it still charming. Richard Dean Anderson brought a lot of himself to the role and I cannot replace him in my mind. I loved that he always shook out his hand after hitting someone, showing that it hurt. Which other hero would do that?
