A follow up post to the pool picture

So QMX wanted to know where they do R&R. I couldn’t come up with any witty reply so I just did what I do best - another picture. Looks as if they are staying for a while!

Awww...communal luggage!

Maybe they R&R'd on the Holodeck since Risa wasn't discovered yet?

I wonder if this picture implies more than I actually wanted to imply, with the background color and also the colors on the strings on Kirk's bag...

That big luggage is a moneybank actually! My mother once gave it to me with money for travel. Not sure if anyone would be interested in the behind the scenes picture - to keep it holding at the angle, I added a cow from my cow shelf under it ;)

Fandom is in two minds about when the holodeck was invented. We didn't see it during TOS, but we saw something similar in the animated series, which gave "Star Trek Continues" reason to also have it in one of their episodes. But some purists say it was not invented until the Next Generation.

I don't remember it on the original ST either now that I think about it. I probably is a NG invention.

Now that I took a second look at the colours I can see how it might be considered something more. That was not what I was implying...I just saw one luggage and thought - they're sharing.

Not all things rainbow coloured should imply something other than simply rainbow colours but we live in a world where I think that is no longer possible...the LGBT community has claimed it for their own.

Actually it wasn't so much your reply, you just were the first I was able to talk to ;)
As I just also had sent it to QMX via Twitter and then was worried they may see me as an avid slasher now.

But I needn't have worried, they already replied again and they love it.

As if I needed any more encouragement! LOL

Yeah, I had bought this sheet just as an innocent different planet setting, nothing more in mind. And the suitcase was just too big and heavy for one to carry alone.

It's so great your work is being recognized! And that you have such fun doing them :)

(well the invisible cow is holding up the suitcase for them lol)

It's a money bank ;) Very heavy. My mother once gave it to me with travel money. I used a cow from my kitchen shelf to keep it in the angled position, as the figures would not be able to hold it. In fact, it held the figures LOL

Oh, and look, QMX replied again. As if I needed any encouragement!

Yeah, it's great getting feedback like that! I'm sure they get tons of pictures each day but it's nice they stay in contact with their fans. It shows that they are just as happy and proud about those figures.

Here's the cow if you like:

I expected it to be a bigger cow. See you truly never know how these things are done!

She's a strong one!
It was a bit fiddly, getting the exact right angle - too much, and it would slip down, too little, and it would fall back to straight. I was surprised myself when it held! Otherwise I would have kept looking for something else. Obviously something triangle shaped would have been perfect but I couldn't think of anything, and I didn't want to wait too long before the light faded.

Well this is true, a book version of Animated stories has a holodeck (which goes crazy, btw)...But even though I am not a purist, I tend to join those who place it to TNG.:-)

Heh, thanks! One of those pictures I was composing in my head first, thinking about what is available to use, and then I visualized it. Some things come naturally to you and you feel there is only one way to do them!

Oh I didn't know there were books about the animated series! I've watched the episodes and remember that one well. It was not called holodeck though. But it was indeed trying to kill people. We had a lot of crazy computers in that series!

Hehe, thank you! I have to thank my mother for the luggage. It does look a bit odd indeed. I wish it would look like an old suitcase, with lots of stickers of London and Paris and New York. That would be nice!

I considered painting it but never could myself make do it.

These books are actually adaptations of animated series. They are called Star Trek Log 1-10 by Alan Dean Foster and each book contains several episodes.
No matter how much I loved these cute animated films, the written stories are MUCH better! *Wink*

Thank you very much for telling me about it, that sounds really good! I even found one on Amazon. But that will be expensive to buy them all at that price. I have to look if I can find it cheaper on ebay.
