dieastraOkay, I'm sure by now everyone has heard of the ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for ALS, so I am just collecting the links here for my own amusement ;) And for those who haven't seen those videos yet. They reached my corner of the fandom now.

Date: 2014-08-20 02:21 am (UTC)On a personal level, I am so grateful this "challenge" is taking off. My father died from ALS 8 years ago and it's a brutal thing to witness. There is no treatment and to get a diagnosis is to get a death sentence. To see so much awareness and money being raised is awesome!

I'm so sorry to hear that this was the cause of your father's death. That must have been hard. It is incredible that Stephen Hawking has lived so long with it. BTW do you know the movie where Benedict played Stephen? I liked it.
