I'm famous *thud*

Since president Obama visited my homecity Dresden yesterday several pictures of me can be found in the web. Apparently people really liked my little Obama figure! I also got interviewed and appeared on some German TV-channels: ZDF, N-TV, RTL, Dresden-TV (and I have it all on tape!); plus my picture is in some newspapers as well: Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten, Morgenpost, Freie Presse and a quote without picture in the Sächsische Zeitung.
First, here are the pictures I took that day:
batch 1 (Thursday): http://dieastra.livejournal.com/5585.html
batch 2 (Friday): http://dieastra.livejournal.com/6545.html
And don't forget to look at my story how General O'Neill explained the Stargate programme to the new President: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/3687.html
Picture from Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten:

And at a stand of the Sächsische Zeitung you could get this picture:

It was here when RTL asked me what I was doing at the moment. Well, what does it look like? LOL I need to digitalize the video. It was in their main evening news, and afterwards my mother called: "I've seen you in TV!"
Dresdner Morgenpost:

Freie Presse (Chemnitz)

Video in ZDF heute:

Here's a link to the video, it jumps right to my moment: https://youtu.be/Y4M7DPXGq3c#t=1m22s

The following was the pic my American friend found in the Democracy forum:

It also was displayed in Zeitong from Fulda:

Date: 2009-07-07 01:28 am (UTC)Eeeps! I just looked below and saw an Illya Kuriakin icon of David McCallum from The Man from U.N.C.L.E! He has been one of my favorite actors since I was a kid and I have all of his records. He started out as a professional musician, playing the English horn in symphonies and then writing and arranging music - even after he turned to acting.
Isn't it funny how we come from all over, but still have similar interests?

Date: 2009-07-19 03:42 pm (UTC)And you haven't even seen the half of Dresden if you only know the video. I just sent you some more pictures by e-mail! It is indeed a beautiful city, and I would love to show you around if you ever make it over here. I love to walk through the city and watch all those foreign tourists, and I'm thinking "I live here! Yay!" LOL Certainly never want to leave.
The U:N.C.L.E. picture is from
Me, I have never seen the show, but you can't blame that on me, since Dresden is the only part in whole former Eastern Germany, where we could not get TV from Western Germany. The rest of the republic did and watched it all, but we were too deep in the valley, the waves didn't arrive, you know? We were called "valley of the clueless" back then, actually, since we had to relate on the TV news from the official Eastern German TV, and could not compare with anything, or see a different side to a theme.
Why is that whenever I answer your posts I write so much? ;) Just wanted to say thanks, especially for the photogenic comment! I certainly enjoyed myself that day. I took a day vacation for it, actually.
