Well, if you feel like, you can always try the odd word with me ;) Like I tend to drop a Russian word in the middle of a conversation with my friend in Kazakhstan if I feel like it. But sadly it is also only mostly single words or ingrained phrases that are left. I used to be able to write whole essays. It's really true that you need to train it on a regular basis, and now with English being everywhere there is no need for anything else. I still was very proud when I watched one of those Russian lessons on TV and actually understood what they were talking about in a little play scene. So it's not all forgotten - you always understand more than you can speak yourself.
But did you have at least subtitles? Or how would you know what all those German words meant? Just from watching?
