For [livejournal.com profile] niviene and everyone who always wanted to know who is in my Detolf:

Sherlock and John (the empty chair is reserved for Mycroft). Sherlock usually in his famous hands on the nose pose but I changed his hands for a scene:

Stargate & Doctor Who: Jack and Daniel. They used to sit holding hands and arms around each other, but I took the Weeping Angel out recently so the poses got a bit disturbed:

Doctor Who & Torchwood: The Ninth Doctor (walkie-talkie), Ianto (made from Dragon Jamie Classic Adam figure), President Obama (with which I became famous and was interviewed for TV and newspaper when the real one visited Dresden), Jack Harkness (made from a Max Steel figure) and Martha:

Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor and two Tens:

And finally, the Barbie kitchen and Sindy room divider:

Soon I'll need a new shelf for Kirk and Spock.

You have good eyes! The left picture is Jack, the right picture is Ianto, and the middle is a photoshopped pic of the two of them I found in the net. I used these for my dancing scene on the mantelpiece of the fireplace:

The frames are bought though. Here you can see it in close-up: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/187611.html

I love Journey's End! It was so great with all of them working together. A truly crossover. And I did pictures of that too ;) http://dieastra.livejournal.com/155636.html

Oh no, I did not make the Obama. But it was the first expensive figure I bought. Before, I only had had Jack and Daniel from Stargate, which were rather cheap, as they are not very well made. Only about 25 Dollars. The faces are not good, and they came in the simple green uniforms. Some nice accessories though. While searching for other clothes for them, I stumbled about the Obama. They had posed him with a light saber and a samurai sword... I couldn't not buy him! He looked simply amazing. So lifelike. And when I bought him I already knew he would visit Dresden, so I felt I should mark this special occasion. A lot of people asked me where I got him - I should have bought ten and sell them there LOL

The Doctor Who figures I buy now are 179 GBP which is over 200 Dollars. The Obama was only 70 Dollars. Yet he is much better and detailed. His shirt and jacket has real buttons with real button holes, while the buttons on the Doctor Who figures are just glued on and not working. His jacket also has real pockets. He has real shoelaces and a belt and a wristwatch and all lovely stuff. Even a second head with a different expression I have no idea how to change. The only thing I don't like about him - when you open his shirt, his body is rather white.

Here are the pictures of him posing I referred to: http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--FTJtwRmi--/18mkjqm7z50z4jpg.jpg

You have quite the collection of figures. In about 20-30 years your collection will probably be worth quit a bit of money above what you paid for it!

Yeah, I think you may be right there but then again it does not matter what it's worth but only what someone is willing to pay! Even now you can see some of the Big Chief figures on ebay, asking for 1000 Dollar as they are sold out and rare to find. And they are only a few years old. Some desperate people then pay that insane price. It is not right.

Even my small Stargate figures, which did originally cost 15 Dollars, go for 100 and more Dollars now. As I only recently started to buy the small Star Trek figures, I also had to pay quite a lot for some that are rare.

There are people who never take them out of the boxes, as they will be evem more worth if they are mint in package. But I want to play and have fun. I don't care about the value. Although I won't take my expensive figures to travels with me. I only use the cheap toy versions for that. Originally I had planned to take Sherlock and John to London but thought better of it.

It is quite an addictive hobby. I think I may have to buy the Victorian Sherlock and John figures as well ;)

I do worry what happens when I am old though. I should find a new lovely home for them, not that they simply get thrown away. That would be sad.

I realized I haven't answered this...my apologies!

I'm sure they'll be worth something by then and you can simply leave them to someone who will cherish them, or donate them or sell them if necessary! But that's a long way off so no worries you and the rest of us on the internet can enjoy them now :)

Victorian Sherlock sounds cool as all things Victorian are!

Thank you!

It is always a huge hassle setting up that TARDIS interior so I don't do it very often. Mostly it is stowed away in a huge box. I can only hope that Big Chief Studios is not making a TARDIS console one day. At 1:6 scale, it will be HUGE!

The one I have here, if you put a battery inside, it even goes up and down and makes the TARDIS noise. So cool!
