Picspam - birthday gifts 2016

As promised, here are my birthday gifts. But first a very special thank you to
vjezkova for that awesome and cute birthday cart from Jacquie Lawson! I took the time to play it all. I know and love their advent calendars, they are always done with so much love. But this was the first birthday card I got. Thank you very much!
And now on to the gifts, as usual under the cut.
A new rucksack as the old one is falling apart:

From my brother - a nice file folder:

Houseshoes and socks - mothers always think practical ;)

Sweets - I love Toffifee. It's a caramel hull, filled with nougat and a hazelnut. Yummy!

After getting cows for so many years (see the Cows tag) I asked to get sheep now, and sheep I got!

A little fox, and a flamingo that is of the "shake your wings with solar energy" kind:

I was hunting for this 2 Euro coin all year long. Each year they do a different one with a picture from a German state and this year it was Saxony. You may recognize the Zwinger from my pictures of Kirk and Spock doing Sightseeing in Dresden

And then my brother said he wants to play the matches game like he used to do as a child. You lay a lot of matches into a circle on the table, and in between little gifts and sweets. Then people throw a dice and count, and either you get a match or a gift. You take them so the circle gets smaller and smaller. I won these two, the cow is a pen sharpener actually:

Date: 2016-10-23 07:56 pm (UTC)You don't look at the back of coins when getting them or giving them away? I always do. Ever since the Euro started, first to see if there are foreign ones. They are very common now and not special anymore.
I just read that there are 30 Million of the Zwinger one so I have no idea why I haven't seen one earlier.
If you scroll down a little here, you can see all the others from previous years. They do this since 2006:

Date: 2016-10-30 09:40 am (UTC)My brother has quite a coin collection, all the Euros from all the different countries and other coins as well.
I guess since it was the Saxony coin, everyone in Saxony wanted to keep it. If I had been on vacation somewhere else, I might have gotten it easier there. I see the coins from the other states all the time.

Date: 2016-10-29 09:29 am (UTC)I must ask my mother if she invented the game or where she got it from. It's really great fun! Maybe something to play with the family at Thanksgiving or Christmas? You could even say that everyone should bring some small thing.
You do know Toffifee? I love it! Ever since my aunt from Western Germany brought them to us when I was a child.
Last year I bought some for my British friends, they didn't know it before.

Date: 2016-10-29 08:56 pm (UTC)Yes we get Toffifee here in Canada. A Lot of the big grocery stores sell it. Interesting that it's not sold in the UK.
