Previously - Part 1: Changing The Doctor into Hamlet - bare arms
Previously - Part 2: Feet for my Hamlet figure
Previously - Part 3: Shirt and Jeans
Yay! Hamlet number 2 is also finished! Doesn't he look striking?
Just as a reminder, this is how it looked before:

I cut off a bit of the jacket at the front, removed the tie and added different lapels and the bowtie.

I also added the button border of the shirt and changed the pockets of the jacket.

The sleeves of the Doctor suit went straight till his hands, but Hamlet has a bit of white shirt sleeves peeking out, which is how a good suit should be worn. So, I added a bit of extra sleeve:

Also with extra buttons, of course:

At the backside, I removed whatever it is called (the thing which makes the jacket more tailored). I also filled up the vent in the middle of the jacket and added two vents right and left instead:

Of course, he also got feet - I think I have to cut them a bit smaller yet:

E voilá!

And Hamlet number 1 got the print on his t-shirt. I think it looks okay if you don't look too closely. I also painted his jeans blue and tried even for a bit of faded look at the knees.

I said don't look too closely!

I made myself some kind of stencil, but it didn't work the way I had originally planned. I thought I could spray it on.

But it smeared too much, so I had to paint it in the end.
Oh, and both former Doctors got their sideburns removed! That was kind of tricky.

On to the whole Hamlet play with actionfigures

Date: 2011-03-19 07:30 pm (UTC)Only problem, the figure has kinda stiff arms, I already tried that famous pose with arms around each other and it doesn't work quite well :( So I am not in a hurry and still in the lookout for a better working figure. If you ever stumble about one you think would work, please let me know?

Date: 2011-03-08 06:50 am (UTC)I do have a problem now, though - my black paint looks different on the original jacket, than it looks on the white Milliput. So when looking at the backside, you can see where I changed it. Hm.
And thank you! Not sure whether you will get this comment, though, as they don't send e-mail-notifications at the moment.

Date: 2011-03-12 10:40 pm (UTC)And why not look too closely at the T-shirt print? Judging by the picture it looks great :). No mistaking it for something other than it is :). Oh, and I've recently seen that this Hamlet should wear some bandage around his hand. I'm sure the hankie-trick will do, again (meaning the usage of some stripe of tissue ;) ). You'll find a way, I'm sure.
Great work, especially for the first try. What's your next project :D?

Date: 2015-09-09 10:42 pm (UTC)I'd offer to make a Hamlet for you except the feet were really a pain in the ass, so I rather don't want to do it again ;)
I am not entirely happy about the t-shirt version. Because I made one huge mistake - I used the wrong figure. I used the regular suit Ten. Therefore the collar of the shirt is too high up, and I realized this trouble when I started to draw the picture on the shirt. It does not fit and not look like in the real pictures.
What I should have done - and realized too late - is to use a figure of Ten as he just regenerated, and still was in the leather jacket and t-shirt of Nine. There are figures of Ten's had on Nine's body.
Because then I would have a real neck and a real shirt collar already, and the design would fit better. But as I said, not going to do it again!
There is also David Tennant as Benedict in "Much ado about nothing" in my customized list. Just saying: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/40721.html
I was for a moment entertaining the idea of doing David in that other costume from Much ado - you know, the one with short pants and Suprman shirt and full of paint - but this means I'll have to do sandals. I'm not sure sandals and naked feet are easier than naked feet alone ;) I'll have to think about this.
But I want to do him in the full whit uniform.
Many thanks for your praise! If you thought you could actually buy them, then they could not be half bad, could they?

Date: 2015-09-10 04:21 pm (UTC)I suppose there's always something you can do better, or just differently, no matter what you are doing. But it doesn't downgrade the work, not yours in particular. Your Benedict is excellent as well (the creases!), the only lacking thing is a wide grin on his face ;)

Date: 2015-09-20 08:44 am (UTC)Yeah, sadly nothing I can do about that ;) I realize I should have given him the sunglasses as prop. They may not fit him as they are from bigger figures, but he could hold them in hand. How do you like my tiny golf car? ;) I was looking if I could buy one in the real size but they were way too expensive.
Not sure I have enough to say for a Benedict Hamlet squee post. Surely there are lots of them in the net already. I didn't even do one for "Much ado about nothing" as I felt I had nothing new to say.
I liked it. I am not squeeing like everyone else, but I liked it. I did however not - like my friend - forget Benedict and see Hamlet. It was still Benedict for me. Then again, I probably was comparing it with David's in my head all the time, which probably isn't fair.
I actually liked him more in the comedy scenes. You could see that he was having fun there. And the fencing was pretty good and real and convincing. I had looked forward to that scene.
The mother dying was done a bit quickly I felt. She drank, she fell down, while they were talking on the other side of the stage. If I hadn't looked for it, I would have totally missed it.
The stage setting was beautiful. Lots of details, and the second half very differently and unique. You'll see. And there were some scenes, where everything was in slow motion while we heard Hamlet's thoughts. I thought that was brilliant.
I'm sad that the dollhouse that was on one side of the stage never got used ;)
Let's talk about it once you have seen it!
I hadn't even known that he apparently is indeed giving autographs at the stage door. Seems I am not much friends with any Benedict fans so I did not stumble about this particular information. Apparently Twitter is full of people's pictures. I did on purpose stay away from any posts to not get spoilered, but will seek them out now.

Date: 2015-09-24 04:29 pm (UTC)I hear similar things everywhere, so where's the squeeing crowd? ;)

That sounds really interesting.
I've seen some pictures and videos from the stage door. It seems he does sign authographs it but I don't know how often...
