So, in a few days the new CD of John Barrowman comes out, and the tournee will be next year in May and June. I got tickets for me and my friends for Cardiff at May 30th. Anyone want to join me there?

The CD can be bought at all the places where one usually buys CDs - Amazon and I-tunes comes to mind. If you want to listen first what you are buying, you can listen to it streaming here:

I saw you left me a message on FB about this but I couldn't reply back without turning on "chat", and there are some chatty people of FB (not you, mind!) that I'd rather avoid. LOL.

I'd love to come to this, especially to Cardiff, but I really don't think we'll have the money for another UK trip so soon. :(

I think someone told me once that you can hide from some people while still being online but don't ask me how! I just sent it there because I can see whether you saw it or not, and don't need to worry.

But yeah, I figured it might be too soon. Maybe another time!

The only way I figured out how to do that was by turning chat "off" altogether. Of course, that was when I first joined FB, but it's better that way, anyway. I can spend hours chatting away so it's better that I don't get started! LOL.

I totally know what you mean though. I once had this friend as well. For a while, it was nice chatting about everything JB every day, but you need indeed also time to check your e-mails and read all things on the internet, and I can't concentrate on that when a chat window is always open.

And I started to fear visiting FB because as sooon as I was logged in there was a "Hi what are you doing?" message. I mean, I understand if there actually IS something important and exciting to chat about, but just small talk without any meaning is meaningless.

But I once told her that I rather not want to be this close anymore for all the reasons mentioned and she accepted it. So, you could always try the "please don't contact me anymore without a special meaning" speech or something.

Now I am chatting with someone else about everything JB rather closely as well - you know how these things happen from small to big - but I have told her that if I choose not to reply, I have my reasons (for being occoupied with other stuff, or actually just about to go offline) and she agrees, that it is not always the right time, and if I choose not to reply, she does not write another and another and another message, like the other one did. She just did not get the hint, you know?

So, she just waits patiently, until I pick up the conversation the next day or whenever I am ready. And then I might have to wait till she replies again (being on 6 hours time difference probably helps with that, we hardly meet at the same time online).

While, of course now that we had to discuss which tickets to buy for the tour, there would be more frequent chatter (and I could not have concentrated on anything else with all the excitement anyway, so it is good to have an outlet).

TLTR: Be brave, and tell them what you want. This internet thing should be fun and not hard work.

OMG, that's exactly what happened to me. There was one person in particular who I didn't even know that well (someone I went to school with ages ago) who started messaging me the minute I logged on and just wouldn't stop. At first it was kind of fun (I love a good chat, me), but she'd keep up a barrage of messages about nothing in particular while I was trying to read the rest of FB and talk with other people too, and it just got distracting, and then annoying.

Unlike you, I was a wimp, and decided just to disappear. LOL. But that was also motivated by the fact that I was spending too much time chatting in general (it's very addicting!) and decided to cut myself off.

It can, as you say, be useful and fun--maybe someday I'll give it another go. And be more assertive about it when I do. :)

Wow, what a trip from the other end of the world! It surely will be worth it. Hope you will get your vacation. Just be the first to ask ;)

Is it your first concert or have you seen him live in concert or panto before?

Aside from Cardiff we also do Ipswich, seems nobody is going there LOL But it was the only other venue that fitted in with my friend's work. At first I wanted to do Brighton the day after Cardiff.

We were in Edinburgh in January when we were in Glasgow for panto, but other than rain I haven't seen anything of it. It was the worst storm/rain which the UK had at the beginning of the year, with floods and everything. We went to the pantings gallery and then I realized that once a picture was tweeted with John and Carole doing research for their books there. We should have taken a photo in the seat they had sat in.

Never been to a concert or Panto of JB's saw him at Supanova (he is just such a funny guy and so nice and friendly) so am so excited to be going - my team leader is for me going, so I just have to clear it with the centre manager - but I'm going ahead as if I have the time off, booking accommodation and stuff so it's all prepared and I can say look I had to book as it high season in the UK and I have all these tickets and stuff (I'm off for three weeks from today, so I will have all organised by the time I get back so fingers crossed )

Crossing my fingers for you then!

I have yet to watch the Sydney video (there is a video of the whole panel and also a clip from Perth, with some really funny bits)

Did you do a picture with him? Tell me you got a nice hug and then another funny one, he is so good at funny pictures! *points to icon* I saw some with Scott in them as well, so awesome!

And I loved all the sightseeing stuff and videos and pictures he sent us. They really enjoyed their trip.

Ooo, thank you SO much for the streaming link! My mom and I have just gotten through listening to it and we loved it! (No surprise there, I suppose, lol! ;) ) It was great to get to have a "sneak peek" of it! :D

It's pretty cool that it's actually releasing for us via Amazon on my birthday! :D We seem to be getting it later than everybody else, not until into July, which is about how it usually goes for imports, of course. But still, it was neat to see the date it was available like that! ;)

Thanks again! :D ♥♥♥

You might want to consider ordering from Amazon.co.uk instead. First, you would get it earlier maybe, and second, it will be much cheaper. This is what someone just wrote in the JB group:

At Amazon.com John's new CD listed as an "Import" for $31.47.

If you don't mind a little bit of a wait as it swims across the pond, getting it from AmazonUK is a MUCH better deal. £8.00 there, which converts to $13.62, so even paying the shipping to "import" it yourself, it's still a better deal than getting it from Amazon proper.

I've ordered my last two UK artist CDs that way, and saved myself about $20 in the process.

Cheers! :)

~ Karen ~

I have found that as well, I usually order with them directly instead of the German Amazon. Things are way too expensive there. The British "Doctor Who" DVDs for example. I also got the "Richard II" with David Tennant cheaper, ordering directly. I just had no idea the shipping costs to the US would still be cheaper. Wow.

I actually haven't listened to it yet, I refuse to do so and patiently wait for my CD to arrive! I want to do this the proper way. This somehow feels like opening Christmas presents three days earlier LOL

Ooo, I hadn't thought about that, thanks! :D I'll have a look into that and see how it all works out. :D

*blush* I know, I'm so bad, lol! ;) I just couldn't wait! ;) ♥♥♥

I got the VIP ticket for fourth row (row D). They are very expensive (82 GBP) but I wanted to sit close. The next category is at 50 GBP.

If you think about coming, don't think too long, as the best seats might already be gone.

Here is a seating plan, so you have an idea where the seats are:

http://www.mapaplan.com/seating-plan/cardiff-motorpoint-arena-detailed-numbers-chart/cardiff-motorpoint-arena-seating-plan.htm

I don't think you will be able to choose your seat, you just choose the category, and then you will get seats assigned. If you don't like them, just try again and see if you get others.

Altogether I think 6000 people fit into this hall, so it won't sell out immediately, but you don't want to sit far away and not see him up close.

Not sure I know from where you are flying into... Is it a long trip? Then yeah, we have to considerate how many we can do of them, time and money wise.

I already have a few planned for next year as well: Glasgow in January (pantomime with John Barrowman), London in May (Torchwood convention), Cardiff and Ipswich in May (John Barrowman concerts) and London in September (Benedict Cumberbatch in "Hamlet")

But I regard flying from Germany a rather small hop. I have flown to Vancouver twice for Richard Dean Anderson, now THAT was long and expensive. They really should invent beaming or something, would make travelling so much easier!
