With the final game going on at the moment, I thought this was a good time to post the final part of my story. I admit my muse was a bit absent but then something happened and I got inspired. For those of you who don't know - I am German, and I guess I won't have to tell you which game inspired me ;) So, enjoy the final match!

Well, I am not a soccer fan and I haven't watched much (I'm generally not interested in any sports), but it's certainly nice ;) And everyone says they deserved it. And they left it quite tense till the last moment.

Originally the game should have ended after 90 minutes, but we still were at 0:0 then. So they had to play another 30 minutes. And just ten minutes before those were up, we got a goal. So after that, they only merely waited for the time to be over and to not let it change in the last minute. It can backfire if you celebrate too early.

The players just all shook chancellor Merkel's hand, she is in the stadium as well ;)

They did! Not sure if you know about the game I was referring to? When we played against Brazil a few days ago, it ended with 7:1 which is unusual high for a soccer game. Most end with only one or two goals. Some of those goals came very quickly one after the other - people were not done celebrating the first, when we already got the next and the next. Brazil was totally swamped. It was all a bit mad and the whole world is talking about it. I hear even the Empire State Building was dressed in the German colors.

So, that was my inspiration ;) With us winning right now, it's perfect timing also.

That is an alien piece of technology which original purpose I have alrady forgotten and which I did misuse as trophy, yes ;)

I thought that might be the case! I haven't been following the World Cup much but that match was so extraordinary I couldn't help hearing about it. I didn't know the final score though, just that it was a blowout, so I wasn't sure.

LOL re the alien tech-cum-trophy. That seems very appropriate for this event!

I have no idea how they calculate what's trending, but my guess is in between the time I posted and you saw it, it fell in rank. It was at #18 that I saw for about ten minutes. When I checked a bit later, it was around #30. It can change that fast, I suppose!

Sorry I didn't think to screenshot it myself. If I ever see anything like that again, I will!

Yeah, after I wrote this I checked again and it was down to 95. I had no idea it could happen that quickly.

And yes, please, if you ever spot it in the top again, that would be awesome! I usually don't go to the home page, it never occured to me to look for my own stuff there.

My journal in general is on place theehundredsomething, which is also rather good if I see others with 12,000 or so. When I post something big and lots of people click on it, I get hits of 200-300 on a day. The flag counter is counting them all.

Yay, what a great end to an exciting game! I LOVE the trophy and how Sam is perched up on their shoulders (fantastic balance going on there, lol ;) )!

Your action shots were all awesome as well, lots of motion and personality (like Jennifer's overhead kick and Vala using all of her "distractions")! I really enjoyed reading all of this, it was a lot of fun!

And though I'm rather behind, have a belated congratulations for the World Cup win from me! :D ♥♥♥

Yes, it was not easy to balance Sam! But I figured some sort of celebration is in order.

And thank you for the congratulation as well! I'm really not much into the game, but you can't help being excited when the boys are so joyful. Two days later, they had a big welcome party in Berlin and they showed live in TV how the plane touched down and how they got out and then drove around Berlin in a big bus with people waving on the streets, till they reached the big stage with thousands of fans in front. They even had repainted the plane so it said it was the "winner plane". And instead of Lufthansa it said fanhansa LOL
