Priceless! Vic Mignogna and Todd Haberkorn in a swimming race - was there really any doubt as to who would win? Not for me.
I love the esthetics of this video, the serious training sequences in the beginning, the funny bits in between and the animé (

I love especially this screenshot. Very artistic:

Date: 2016-01-05 12:13 am (UTC)The way alone he jumps into the water, and already is three meters ahead. And he makes
the other(ah screw that, who am I kidding here? LOL) Todd look like a lame duck. Sorry Todd! I didn't think the gap would be THAT big. Simply amazing. But really, also a very esthethical shot video. They certainly know what they are doing.

Date: 2016-01-05 12:22 am (UTC)It's a SUPER popular, super slashy anime about pretty boys in a swim club :D I just looked it up, and Vic and the other guy in the video play two of the main characters in the English dub version. Vic's character is the red-haired boy in the clips - Rin, and Todd plays Haruka. (They're pretty much the most popular OTP of the show. If you're curious, check out the 'sharkbait' tag on tumblr ^_~)
♥
P.S. There's a fun interview with Vic (and Todd) here, in case you haven't seen it: http://www.funimation.com/blog/tag/free-cast-announcement/

Date: 2016-01-05 12:44 am (UTC)In some of the animated clips in the video they wear swimming caps, so it's hard to say who is who. I guess though that the order who is in front is the same? So in this clip, Vic's character actually was the slower one? I'm happy he didn't take the cosplay THAT far to be true to it LOL
I went to the other page but only can find very short interviews with only three questions each? Is that what you meant? I thought maybe a video interview with both together or something.

Date: 2016-01-05 10:48 pm (UTC)And yeah, I think Vic's character is slower in the clip *nod* It's kind of hard for me to tell too, but I think you're right.
And yeah, it was the short Q&A that I was talking about, no video or anything ;)

Date: 2016-01-05 06:38 pm (UTC)Two days before the release of this video on New Year's Day we had gotten a teaser, which was them standing nose to nose (I wonder how many takes it took for them not to laugh there) and already back then I knew or at least hoped Vic would win. I mean, once you have seen Captain Kirk shirtless in the first episode? Those shoulders? No doubt. Still, quite impressive, especially since he is 20 years older than Todd! I'll make sure to congratulate him when I see him in May at Fedcon.
BTW I am already hooked to ST Continues! Many thanks for your info! WOW, it is perfect!
Yay! I'm so happy you like it! I have to thank Erikah for introducing me to it, and I happily pass it on. It was not easy in those weeks when I had nobody to talk about it but now I had invited some friends and we watched together. So, if you need someone, I am here! I have become a real fan and watched the episodes several times already. And I may talk about STC and also Vic a lot recently.
Where are you? Which episoides have you seen already? Which is your favorite? Isn't Vic a wonderful Kirk? Sometimes you really could think it's Shatner. And I also love especially Chuck Huber as Doctor McCoy. But actually I love them all. Can't wait for episode 6.

Date: 2016-01-05 08:22 pm (UTC)I have seen the first episode only BUT I tell you, it is love at the first sight! Simply perfect! And yes, there are moments I must admit that Vic has read his Shatner very well, even the tiniest gestures and mimic!
It was like returning to the old "golden years", the beginning of my fandom. They obviously bring back the best of ST TOS, I say even after the first episode. And the team work is great, I watched the Gag Reel, of course.:-)
I must thank you again!YAY!!!

Date: 2016-01-05 09:58 pm (UTC)And yes, aside from the episodes, I love the gag reels. You can see how close friends they all are. Vic knows a lot of people through his dubbing of animé.

There is especially one scene in this episode, which always blows me away... I'll post a comparison pic! And I wish you fun when you continue with Continues, heh!

Date: 2016-01-06 11:45 pm (UTC)I need to show you some more videos:
Have you seen this? A short clip from 1986, Vic is 24 and already plays Captain Kirk. If he only had known back then! https://vimeo.com/148679797
And you have to watch these three videos, they are hilarious:

Easy Bake Oven 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGK-1IH50nQ
Easy Bake Oven 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYWOB3hBBrE
There are some more similar videos on that channel if you want to look, but these are the best. I laughed until I cried. And the fun bit is, that I totally could see John Barrowman sitting there on the sofa, doing all the things - suddenly bursting into song, playing with the action figure, etc. They have a very similar personality! And Vic looks very young here, like a little boy, not a man of 53.
Oh, speaking of JB - have you seen the picture where John kisses Vic? Two captains! I hope he got his phone number, wouldn't it be cool if John could guest star in a future STC episode? I've tweeted this pic and it got retweeted by Colin Baker even. Wow.

I also intend to do a post about my favorite songs of Vic. Would you like to be tagged in the future to not miss anything I think might interest you? I don't want to spam you.
