Not that I ever was adult to begin with...
I had planned to save some money after the recent expensive convention and "Star Trek Continues" shopping spree, but then I saw this and simply couldn't resist!
My Mega Bloks parcel arrived today! And it's simply awesome. I started building right away. See the cut for more pictures.

It's all in pieces:

The figures are awesome too, a bit bigger than LEGO, and more joints.

A ballpoint shoulder joint so he can put his arm sideways, and knee and elbow joints even.

There is even a tiny tricorder and communicator and two phasers.

Here is Kirk modelling them off:

I had wondered why I had gotten two Uhuras but when you compare them, you'll see the differences. There is too much black at the groin and also at the knee joints with the first one.

Not much to show for my efforts yet but tomorrow I will finish building the bridge out of these pieces:

Date: 2016-06-11 03:38 pm (UTC)Out of nostalgy, I recently went to ebay to see if I could find that dollhouse TV which lights up that I had as a kid but was broken and so got thrown away. I found it and bought it: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/189822.html
I also read once that a lot of people try to find their childhood books they have as a nice memory. Thankfully I never threw mine away ;)

Date: 2016-06-12 07:01 am (UTC)But I really have no anime knowledge at all, sorry. I've never watched any cartoons, anime or otherwise. My only connection in the recent months is through Vic Mignogna, who voices a lot of them and is quite famous for it, but I don't think I'll start watching them just because of his voice. In German TV everything is dubbed German anyway, so it would be a hassle to get.
I do like the anime songs he sings though. Do you know them?
Brothers (from Full Metal Alchemist): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfAEMal84ag
Soldier A (he wrote this one after just goofing around in the studio): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6V3Rj6KH5U
I like the melody of the first one, and the second one is really funny ;)

Date: 2016-06-12 02:03 pm (UTC)I did listen to a couple of German anime dubs, just to see what they were like, and they sounded even odder than the English ones, lol

Date: 2016-06-14 09:53 pm (UTC)Also in the swimming video Vic recently did, where his swimming was intercut with the animé characters swimming, and they were just boys.
But while looking through my TV channels on Sunday, I stumbled about a Japanese animated movie, about a guy who wanted to construct planes ever since he was a little boy and finally became an engineer and also went to Germany to study how they did their planes (must have been before the war). So I've watched that a little bit and I liked it. As it was more technical and "adult", if you know what I mean?
