That was a long wait, he was supposed to arrive in Summer already but they pushed him back for a better paint job and it was totally worth the wait. He's awesome! I can't wait to start playing properly, with better lighting.
See many detailed pictures under the cut!
The box:

A new background! So far we had the TARDIS console, and now the door from the inside. I love it!

Some complain he does not look like Christopher Eccleston at all, but I think when you find the right angle he looks spot on!

The jacket is a bit too large. I'll have to see if I can do something about that. Some use a paperclip to tighten it at the back. Like the Tenth Doctor's coat it has a wire at the seam so you can pose it:

Some accessories - I need to do a rewatch of the first season to recognize them all:

I also got a Tenth Doctor's smiling head, to be used together with the pyjamas that came with the TARDIS. Again some say it looks creepy but I think they managed to do the typical David Tennant grin very well! He really often looks weird / dorky when smiling but this is why we love him, right?

Disembodied hands again ;) I hear it is a bit more difficult to change them than before, I haven't tried yet. The rubber feels harder, more stiff.

More accessories - sadly one of the tentacles of the Slitheen egg is broken. Not sure if it can be glued or if I should ask for a new one.

I also get the black and green sweater if I want to change him:

And now some pictures! The guy on the left was a walkie-talkie that I used as a stand in. He didn't move much.

Getting kinda crowded in my shelf!

Did I mention I love the backdrop? I think I did. Just checking.

Date: 2016-12-21 02:21 am (UTC)When I heard they were bringing Dr. Who back, I worried that it was going to be ruined. Instead, they had me glued to the screen. The ninth doctor was edgy and hot. :D

Date: 2016-12-23 04:04 pm (UTC)Yes, and I may even try it! With the Tenth Doctor I never dared as I cannot tie that little tie.
I also got Moriarty now - won't post pictures till after Christmas. He also comes with a different shirt and tie.

Is your husband's birthday in Summer? Then that was a long wait!

Date: 2016-12-23 04:00 pm (UTC)I took a long time to warm up to Ten ;) It would have been really nice if Chris had come back for the anniversary movie at least. I read an interview recently where he regretted not having done more seasons.
I now got the Baker Street Door, Nine and also Moriarty all at once - I don't know where to start with photographing! Do I really need to visit the parents for Christmas? LOL

I didn't get him and don't plan to. I didn't much like the last two seasons and never really warmed to this Doctor either. Not Capaldi's fault, I loved him in CoE. But his doctor always was so mean and angry.
From Big Chief also available are number 1 and 4 which I skipped as I never really watchd the classics. Originally they planned to do all Doctors but I think the New Who stuff sells better. I hope we'll get Jack soon!

Date: 2017-01-09 10:49 pm (UTC)Not much of a fan of the 'classic' doctors either.
Jack would be nice!

Date: 2017-01-14 05:43 pm (UTC)What strikes me is how young he looks! I have been following John Barrowman for many years now, and so you don't notice that even he is aging, albeit slowly. But looking at this figure you realize that it has been ten years since Jack arrived on our screens, and it is this young version.

Date: 2016-12-23 04:39 pm (UTC)It might not be the best figure but I don't think it's bad.
A new background! It took me some episodes to notice there's a coat hanger next to the door. No one ever used it in the series :)

Date: 2016-12-29 05:10 pm (UTC)And ooops! I wrote "More accessories" and then forgot to put the picture! Here is the Slitheen egg and the spider from "The end of the world" and the TARDIS key! I love that one. And that is now the fourth psychic paper I have LOL
I can't wait to do proper pictures of him holding all these accessories and looking awesome, but the light at the moment is really not good for photos and I struggle to get good ones. It's too grey and dark. I may have to wait a bit.

Date: 2016-12-30 03:42 pm (UTC)You can take a photo of the Doctors holding psychic papers since you have so many :) There's a lot of fanarts and photo manips of the Doctors carrying screwdrivers or with their TARDISes, but I can't remember a single one of them carrying their psychic papers.

Date: 2017-01-02 09:11 am (UTC)Heh, nice idea with the psychic papers! I have three empty ones and one has River's writing with "Come into the library" on it.
No, I did not have a TARDIS key before, that is my first one. I feel honored he trusts me with this ;)

Date: 2017-01-03 07:46 pm (UTC)Yes, that's an honour :) Frequent flyer privilidge :)
Psychic papers are empty for you, you're a genius! :)

Date: 2017-01-22 11:04 pm (UTC)Look for it on google maps, then you can also see the inside (Eleventh Doctor's one).
You're lucky to catch me, on Tuesday I am off to pantoland ;)
The key worked, by the way.
Edit: The Earl's Court TARDIS was also mentioned in Doctor Who once, when bad guys were looking for the Doctor and said hope we have the right one this time, not like when we fell for the fake one on Earl's Court. I don't remember the episode, it was one with Matt Smith.

Date: 2017-01-22 11:17 pm (UTC)I found the scene when Earl's Court is mentioned, lol! Nice inside joke.
Nine's and Ten's console! Now, if you only could start the engine...

Date: 2017-06-10 02:45 pm (UTC)Sadly the Doctor Who experience in Cardiff is supposed to close this Summer. No ider if you ever get another chance to visit the console after that :(

Date: 2017-06-10 05:21 pm (UTC)I watched "The Bells of St John" today - because I remembered they drove on a motorcycle through London and wanted to shout "I was there!" - and again, I completely forgot about the line about the TARDIS on Earl's Court. It's even funnier if you've actualy been there :)
I'm also sad to hear about Doctor Who experience. I'm sure they'll think of something, there's still so many people who want to see all those things and are ready to pay for it.

Date: 2017-06-14 08:08 pm (UTC)Is that when he also drove up the Shard with the bike? I thought that was epic!
I think it was a huge mistake to do the experience only for 5 years. They have no idea how many fans are coming to Cardiff because of that.
I just looked up the location of the Grenfell Tower. That is near to the area where we were :(

Date: 2017-06-15 06:44 pm (UTC)I think they didn't think that far in advance, or it wasn't possible to make a deal for more than 5 years. The money it made probably speaks for itself. They must be thinking of doing the exhibition in other place, there's no way they would give the money up.
Grenfell Tower is such sad news :(
