Did you try to use perspective? To put smaller figures closer to the camera and bigger ones further from it? That's how they made Hagrid look bigger in Harry Potter films. I don't know if it works with full shots though.
Hm. I sometimes put the smaller figure onto a pedestral which you don't see so that the heads are at the same height. However, Bruce's face also is very childish here, while he has grown into a young man now. Three years make a huge difference for a teenager. He is almost 16 now I think. Time to start to train to become Batman!
Oh, I see, he's a teenager. I thought he was an adult but the figure was smaller. Are you saying he's a young Batman? I'm confused why he's in a hospital then, helping Alfred!
In the Gotham pilot (which I tried to get you to watch if I remember correctly ;) ) the opening scene is of Bruce and his parents walking through that street, where a guy then shoots them both while he has to watch. Talk about traumatizing. Later Alfred comes to collect the disturbed boy.
Their relationship is a very interesting one. In one way, Alfred is Bruce's butler and has to follow his orders. On the other hand, he was made his official guardian. From one minute to the other, he is thrust into the role of a father, having to rise a child despite having no idea how to do so. And Bruce is no ordinary child also.
Bruce then for a while becomes determined to find the murderer of his parents, studying police files etc. and later also demands from Alfred that he teaches him how to fight. A lot of people come and try to either kill or kidnap him - as the "last son of Gotham" and owner of the famous and rich Wayne Company, he is a target. A lot of weird and crazy bad guys in Gotham also ;)
So, the show shows us Gotham and the people in there before there was Batman. How they all started and became what they are. And the finale of season 3, which aired back in May, had as the last scene Bruce standing on a roof, looking over Gotham, apparently having made his mind up that he wants to help this city. So it will be interesting where they go with this in season 4. There was also a great scene a couple of episodes back that defined the first step: After Jerome (who probably will become Joker one day) tried to kill Bruce, there was a moment where he was fighting back and had the chance to kill him but didn't, and later, while Alfred was wrapping a wound on his arm, Bruce decided "I won't kill!" and Alfred made him repeat it several times to make it into a rule.
Alfred is much more than just a butler, in case I did not mention that. He was in the SAS in the UK, which is doing black ops covert missions. He is an experienced soldier. He is acting also as a bodyguard, often getting into fights to protect Bruce. He would die for "his boy" as he lately calls him. And so I let him end up in hospital.
Hope I explained it well? Please feel free to ask further if something is not clear. I can't know how deep your knowledge of all things in the Batman universe goes.
Also, on a personal note - while Sean Pertwee is filming Gotham in New York, his wife and son are back in the UK. They visit but of course he misses them in his daily life. So he and David Mazouz who plays Bruce, have developed a great relationship also and he is like a son to him now. And is very proud of him, the way he acts all those difficult emotional scenes and other stuff - and I also think they chose well with the actor. So, we have seen him growing up in front of the camera during the past years, and that's why I think it is time for a new figure of the older Bruce.
Haha, yes, you are absolutely right! He does wear everything in style!
Even more poor boy now. In the midseason finale before Christmas, Bruce did fire Alfred! Bruce is in his rebellious years now, just wants to be a teenager and get drunk and have fun. So Alfred actually was packing his suitcase and leaving with a last sad glance back. I sure hope he'll be back next year!
Have I told you about the scene where Alfred comes home (after Bruce left him stranded in the middle of the woods) and Bruce was partying? Alfred took a bat and hit the record player so hard that the record broke. I actually asked Sean on Twitter how often he got to film this scene. 5 times, he said ;) I want to do that with figures. But I don't have enough teenagers for the party guests.
The cast is one of the awesome Wrestling figures accesssories! It actually opens and closes and so can put around any leg. I love it! It's a big huge but totally fun.
