Every year in May we have the International Dixieland Festival in Dresden, with bands coming from all over the world. Giving concerts you have to pay for, but also there is one day where they play all over the city for free, and a big parade. It's always great fun with Bratwurst and beer and (usually) sunshine.
Some songs we danced to and sang together today were:
- Sunny Side of the Street
- Pennsylvania 6-5000
- Chattanooga Choo Choo
- The bare Necessities
- Down by the Riverside
- When the Saints go marching in
- Glory Hallelujah
- Ain’t she sweet
- I scream for Ice cream
- Tin Roof Blues
- What a wonderful World
- When you’re smiling
It inspired me for this picture!

Ah but I love Dixieland. This band is good.
So I assume the lyrics go "I scream, you scream, everybody scream icecream"? Took me a long while to understand it, at first I always thought they just sang icecream twice.
Now look what this lyrics page writes what it is supposed to be. I guess that is wrong: http://www.songtexte.com/songtext/chris-barber/ice-cream-1bb6a914.html
For some reason this song is very special for the people in Dresden at the festival, so they always get an extra loud cheer when they play it. This year we saw a band from Moscow and even they had heard about it being special.
