It's been almost a year since I took these pictures and I just realized that I have posted them everywhere but here.
This is the Big Chief Studios Abominable Bride set, you can see more details and accessoires here: https://dieastra.livejournal.com/321980.html

Looks like it's cold outside... Go inside, gentlemen!

Sadly the door is sturdy - it can't open. But I am a member in a forum where someone sawed it open, I kid you not, and also made a whole set by extending the wall left and right. It was amazing work.

(I can turn the knocker handle crooked though, and I also can open the letter box, and I can even switch on a light inside, how's that?)

It does make up for the unopenable (I thought I'm making up a word here, but the word actually exists, lol!) door, yes. The handle of course has to stay crooked. I liked that it was explained in season 3 (I think?) but we can see it earlier if we pay attention. The show was good at details.

By coincidence, the guy posted his diorama again (I forgot to download it the first time) and by coincidence I stumbled about this message again, which means you are now getting to see his awesome work. Check out this post. Only the narrow door in the middle was original, he extended to the left and to the right and also installed extra lights.

I still am scratching my head how he managed to saw it open without destroying it. It is very hard heavy sturdy material.

Edit: If you want to see step by step pictures how he did it, scroll down these two pages and see all his pictures and comments. It's really interesting:

Wow, this man's work is incredible. He's made Speedy and the entire wall on the left, it actually looks like a set! Amazing. He must have spent ages doing it. Thank you so much for the links, it was great to see the work progressing.

I am quite blown away by it as well. Never in my life would I even attempt something like that and if I did, I probably would screw up. This is a whole another level.

Making more fence posts like the ones that come with the door is one thing, but that Speedy - and I love that it is not the complete one, only part of it - is another! With the two pictures side by side, I would have not been able to tell which is the real and which is the fake if one did not have chairs outside.
