Well, duh! Of course it has to be Mulder & Scully.
Very nice scene! Perfect backdrop, flooring, and lighting. I love how you've posed them looking away at something. It's a pose we've seen in the show, which shows how well you know the subject material. Excellent and pleasing in every way!
These are the most lifelike action figures I've ever seen. I'm sure they were expensive, but they were worth it. I wish the Stargate ones had been this good.
The exact theme is: "This month, we want to see things that go together, romantically or otherwise, like salt and pepper."
I was mentally going through my collection and came to Mulder and Scully. My other choice would have been the Holmes and Watson in Victorian clothes:

but as you can see, I already did a picture like that with them.
My Doctor Who, Sherlock, Wolverine and Star Trek figures are in a glass display for easy access, but Mulder and Scully are stored in their boxes, as I don't do much with them. I should change that.
They are made by Three Zero, a company that also does Harry Potter and Game of Thrones figures. From discussions in online forums I have learnt that this company is hit and miss. I have seen some really great figures by them, and others are not so good. Everyone regards Hot Toys as the best company ever, but they mostly do Marvel and Star Wars, which gets a bit boring if you don't collect these.
Quantum Mechanix who does the Star Trek figures is also very good, but we don't know if they will be able to continue in this way in the future.
I have watched X-Files once, long time ago (long after it originally aired), but I never was in the fandom. I had no desire to buy figures but I kept seeing the pictures of Mulder and he did indeed look really great, so I ended up buying him, thinking he is so iconic, and he would liven up my collection! As I love to do crossovers. Any ideas whom I can pair him with?
Scully came out over a year after him, and sadly while on her own she also looks great, in comparison to Mulder she is way too small. Not just her height, we know she was small, but she seems to be a whole different scale, the head is smaller than Mulder's as well. She looks like a child, if you place her right next to him. Apparently they re-used a body they already had, instead of making one for her.
Which is a real shame, as a lot of people are very angry about this, and even cancelled their order. In my pictures, I cheated in having Mulder's legs bent, and having her standing in front of him. But you should not need to cheat like that. And you will understand that this puts a damper on the enthusiasm for them.
The lighting is just natural light through the window, now come the better days with more sun. In winter I can't take any good pictures when it's all grey outside.
And yes, without doing any research, I think I remember a pose like this, looking into the distance, maybe from promotion pictures? I also gave them their guns (they even have magazines you can remove, amazing!) and added the clips with the badges. They also have badges they can show, you know, the ones you fold. Maybe I'll do a picture like that?
Also I noticed yesterday, Scully's coat is made from a material like velvet, and it attracts all the dust specs! I was not able to wipe them off, you can see them in the super close-up. Mulder's coat is of a different material.
I also changed her from the skirt into her pants as I thought if they need an umbrella she should not be in a skirt. Couldn't do anything about her bare feet though ;)
I really should do a re-watch to get more ideas for them!
And yes, knowing now how good such figures can look (but also being expensive), the Stargate figures look abysmal. I did not want to buy them at the time at all, but then someone in the RDA forum put them into normal suits and shirts, so I finally got the appeal! See, I grew up in East Germany, I did not have Barbies in my childhood.
I put Jack and Daniel into a box a long time ago. And then we didn't even get Sam and Teal'c go go with them!
There are custom heads out there, some people have done the whole team on their own, but I am not really into military stuff and would not know which vests and weapons to buy. I always like to do funny scenes in their off time.
