It has been years but today I took my Stargate figures out again for a bit of fun in the snow.

"Daniel, dial us out!"

Snow1

Snow2

Snow3

"Sir, it will take a while for me to fix this."

Snow4

"Let's give them back that weather stone!"

Snow6

Snow7-1

I even made a camera move! This needs proper sound but otherwise it does look like a proper scene, doesn't it? ;)

Cool! I think Sam needs a jacket though, I feel cold just looking at her!

Thanks!

Jack also has just a short sleeved t-shirt. I chose these figures over the green ones but realized this too late and did not want to go home again. They're the desert uniforms actually and I thought they fit better with the snow.

Love this! Did you see the WizardWorld panel with Stargate cast (SG-1 and Atlantis) that was online today (Jan 30, 2021) via YouTube. It was a lot of fun!

Thank you!

No I didn't. Who was there?

I hadn't known about it. I am totally out of the Stargate loop and fully immersed in the Trek world.
I want to get back into Stargate mode though and do a rewatch. I recently often think about the fun I had with my friends.

It's ok to be immersed in Star Trek :)

The following were at the panel:

Teryl Rothery (“Janet Fraiser”)
Corin Nemec (“Jonas Quinn”)
Cliff Simon (“Baal”)
Joe Flanigan (“John Sheppard”)
Alexis Cruz (“Skaara” / “Klorel”)
Paul McGillion (“Carson Beckett”)
David Nykl (“Radek Zelenka”)

I think you can still watch the replay on the WizardCon Youtube channel.

Absolutely perfect! The grass poking up through the snow... The broken snow on the rocks... The poses. All incredible! I love it!

Thank you! Believe it or not, the "rocks" is actually a tree with bark! I was walking around the neighbourhood, looking for a good place, when I found this in the backyard of one of the apartment houses. It does indeed look like a rock.

For some reason, I have been thinking back to Stargate a lot these past weeks. The community, the friends, the fun we had. I haven't watched it in ages, I want to do a re-watch. When I started with Orville some years ago, I felt the same connection like back then. Two great shows, and now I have added Voyager to that mix as well.

You should follow Joe Mallozzi's daily blog. Remember him? Former writer and show runner from all three Stargate series. He is still posting regularly about SG and he's an Orville fan. His blog is fun and always interesting. Check out JosephMallozzi.com

I had been so disappointed with how the show ended, with all the fights between the fans and also fans and producers, I couldn't stand looking at my DVDs or figures for years. It's only recently that I look back fondly.

And I feel Joe Malozzi is one of those responsible for the decline. Wasn't he the one that told fans if they don't like the show's new direction, they should stop watching? Instead of listening to their valid complaints?

I'm happy to hear he is an Orville fan though. So I am not the only one seeing similarities between those shows. I don't think I would have time for a daily blog though. How has he time to write daily? I love the weekly podcast that Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeill are doing, watching and discussing a Voyager episode, but it's even hard to try and keep up with that.

To distract myself from Stargate, I dived into the Doctor Who and Torchwood fandom completely instead. So completely that I really haven't followed what any of the actors have been doing afterwards. I did try Sanctuary but I did not like it.

And since Doctor Who I also have dived into the Arrow, Gotham, Orville and currently Star Trek fandom. And with every new show I watch, I add new actors to dive into even more - I watched quite a lot of John Barrowman and William Shatner stuff and later with Sean Pertwee as well. I watched hours and hours of Seth MacFarlane singing or interviews on youtube and I am doing the same with Robert Beltran now, trying to find all his old movies (I LOVED "Lone Wolf McQuade" with Chuck Norris which I never had seen before!) and even have started "Orange is the New Black" for Kate Mulgrew. I love finding out more about these new people, and therefore neglect the old :( There are only so much hours in a day.

Once in a while I catch someone though and think, my, he has gotten old ;) But then, we all have. There was an online Stargate panel last weekend. Ben Browder is now wearing a beard. With grey in it. Amanda Tapping still looks the same though! Teryl Rothery even was in an Arrow episode - and I did not recognize her.

I have a friend who apparently still is very much involved, she told me that Ronny Cox recently had given an online concert. I was lucky to once have seen him and his band at a German convention, I certainly would have been interested to watch this concert. She also told me that Cliff Simon had gathered a few fans on Twitter and they were doing video chats, another one was supposed to happen just a few days after his death.

And I feel so unconnected to everything. That's why I think a re-watch might bring me back to it. Stargate even once trended on German Twitter! When MGM was recently bought at Amazon, everyone thought this might mean we might get another series.
